Go from overwhelmed rookie to confident aviator.

 with wit htI started AirplaneAcademy.com as a blog back in 2019 when I couldn’t find very helpful answers to all of my flight training questions. I decided that if there wasn’t a good article or resource for a question that I had, that I would just try to create one myself and help others in the process.

Since then, the site has published over 100 articles and has received well over a million visitors. A few months later I launched the Airplane Academy YouTube channel where I share lessons learned from my own flying experiences, and encouragement for others that becoming a pilot and owning your own airplane is an achievable dream. Since then, around 200 videos have been published, gaining 11,000,000+ views and over 113,000 subscribers.

I was encouraged towards aviation from as young as I can remember, and began flying lessons at 14 years old. I soloed on my 16th birthday, got my private pilot certificate at 17, and since then have since gained my instrument rating, tailwheel endorsement, commercial single engine, commercial multi-engine, and private single engine seaplane ratings. I bought a Cessna 182 in 2016 and it completely changed my life. I attribute much of these experiences to the fact that I grew up in a home that encouraged me to pursue aviation from a young age. The older I get, the more I want to provide that same encouragement to others who want to experience the same thing.

My goal is that any video, article, course, or product you experience that has the Airplane Academy brand on it will be marked by high quality, encouragement, clarity, and value. My goal is to help create more pilots and aircraft owners and further this amazing gift that is general aviation.

I desire to take the foundation of the last several years and continue to grow Airplane Academy into a well-respected aviation content company that also creates extremely high quality products that make becoming and remaining a proficient pilot easier. In 2025 I launched a robust set of private pilot study flashcards, which took me over a year and hundreds and hundreds of hours to build and produce with the help of many others. There are many more ambitious product and company goals that I have for Airplane Academy and I am excited for this to be the first of many new resources that can serve the growing pilot demographic.

More than anything, I am grateful to live in a country and period of history where becoming a pilot and owning your own aircraft is even possible. I do not take that for granted and look forward to working extremely hard to preserve and promote this amazing opportunity.
