Write for Airplane Academy

Airplane Academy is hiring a team of 10 writers to create articles for the site. We’re looking to grow Airplane Academy into one of the very best websites on aviation, and are looking for licensed pilots (CFI’s are preferred but not required) that enjoy writing and want to help others pursue aviation. Our articles help inspire future aviators and equip current pilots. If you’d like to get paid for your aviation knowledge and research ability, and earn a little extra to help pay for flying, then this is a great opportunity.

PAYMENT. We pay $.04 per word, and our articles are all either 1,500, 2,500, or 3,500 words in length. So you’ll be paid either $60, $100, or $140 per article depending on the length. Article lengths are assigned based on the topic, so you’ll know in advance how much you’ll be paid for writing that article.

CREDIT. After contributing five or more articles, writers can have their bio appear on their articles. Until then, they will be ghost written under another name. We want to avoid having 100 articles from 100 different writers on the site.

SCHEDULE. All writers will be expected to produce at least two articles per month. Writers that cannot meet this goal will be let go. You can write as many articles per month as you would like as long as it is two or more.

OWNERSHIP. You understand and agree that all photos, videos, written content, and all other media submitted to Airplane Academy becomes the exclusive property of CTG Holdings, LLC and you do not have the right to republish that content on your own site or anywhere else.

PROCESS. We will provide training videos and instructions to bring you up to speed on the way we like articles to be written. You can obviously use your own writing voice but articles must adhere to our general structure and format, and we will provide feedback and coaching so that you know what we are looking for. We will also provide the article prompts and lengths, and will manage the actual content drafts in Google docs for easy collaboration.

LEGAL. This opportunity is available for writers within the United States. This is a freelance writing gig and you will be an independent contractor and receive a 1099 for your compensation. Airplane Academy and AirplaneAcademy.com are owned, operated, and published by CTG Holdings, LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

Ready? Apply below. We will contact successful candidates on a rolling basis as spots are open. Watch for an email from us.
